Best tracks in which a fretless bass is used
I give you

1. Swing, Japan. Mick Karn was the fretless king.

2. Boy in the bubble, Paul Simon (was it Bakithi Kumalo on bass?)

Beat that

Karn & Pallandino were great for this sound, when it was 'in' back in the 80's.

On a slighlty different level, Phil Thornalley's double bass on The Love Cats is a wonderful piece of fretless playing...

Death had some insane fretless bass lines.
Death - The Philosopher https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k_cn9TVSi2o
The base line that kicks in at 1-16 is fantastic.

And on a slightly different and less heavy note, Bionic Jive - Pump https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dKbtSvBGICI nice rap/rock track with fretless bass.
